Audio Repair Engineers

We are looking for experienced freelance or contract audio repair engineers to carry out component-level repairs on analogue audio equipment. This role is well suited to a self-employed engineer who values flexibility, technical autonomy, and being paid per completed repair rather than hourly.

About the Work 
​Our work is focused on analogue audio equipment - high-end, studio-grade, audiophile and vintage units designed to be repaired rather than replaced. We do not specialise in modern digital units, where parts availability and manufacturing methods often make repair impractical.

​

Scope of Work 

You will be engaged on a per-repair basis, with a steady flow of work available depending on availability and turnaround times. Typical equipment include amplifiers, turntables, speakers, cassette players and valves. Repairs range from straightforward component replacement to more involved fault-finding and restoration.​

Responsibilities 

• Accurate fault diagnosis at component level

• Repair and replacement of analogue electronic components

• Functional testing and basic calibration

• Clear reporting of faults and work completed

• Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and reliability

​

Experienced & Skills Required 

• Demonstrate experience repairing analogue audio equipment

• Strong analogue electronic knowledge

• Confident use of schematics, test equipment, and diagnostic techniques

• High-quality soldering and rework skills

• Ability to work independently and manage your own time

​

Contract & Payment 

• Freelance/ self-employed

• Paid per repair, with rates agreed in advance and based on experience

• Flexible workload - accept work as it suits your availability

• No fixed hours
